When Alessandra's father who worked as an Intelligence Officer passed away prematurely, he left the family a vineyard with several olive trees near Rome, which he bought and personally attended to during his free time.
In 2006, Alessandra left the Diplomatic service to fully dedicate herself to her new career in the wine industry. Today residing in New York, Alessandra writes for the most specialized and popular Italian magazines that focus on wine and food in addition to lifestyle. Alessandra has also written a short story, which was published by the Italian Association Women of Wine. Her story called "Che Briscola di Vino!" or "What a Wine!" was dedicated to her Tuscan grandmother.
With a profound knowledge and experience in the wine industry, Alessandra was asked to work as the Wine Consultant by many restaurants in Manhattan. Alessandra is also a guest Wine Speaker for special events like the “Save Venice” and the Italian "Accademia della Cucina", dinners.
Alessandra is currently executing her own ideas such as the "Wine Seduction Dinners", where she presents wine not only from a technical point of view, but also as a fascinating opportunity to deal with people in personal and business situations. Alessandra's "Wine Seduction Dinners" have been hosted at many well-known venues in New York such as Rizzoli Bookstore and Cipriani Rainbow Room.
The TV Network Alice Sky (the Italian "Food Network"), has filmed Alessandra during her manifold activities in New York, as Writer, Sommelier and Wine Consultant. The program has been broadcasted in Italy.
Alessandra is very honored to have been asked by Vittorio Assaf and Fabio Granato of the Serafina Restaurant Group to be their Executive Wine Consultant at the new Brasserie Cognac. She has also been asked to renovate Wine Lists at Geisha and all the Serafina's.
When asked about the wine list at Brasserie Cognac, Alessandra says, "I wanted to honor the outstanding wines from France from both the famous Chateaus and the not so well known wineries. The best wines from around the world are represented as well. Customers can have gorgeous wines at a reasonable price and hopefully feel transported to the authentic French Brasserie atmosphere in Paris."
